The Maraschino Cherry Diet

The maraschino cherry was always my favorite part of the drink. Maybe because there’s only one.

But when I purchased a jar of maraschino cherries at the supermarket, they were no longer scarce. I started putting two — sometimes three — on top of my nightly desserts.

It soon became clear that my sweets consumption was out of control. The scale was creeping upwards. Clothing was shrinking.

So I tried something counterintuitive: I replaced nightly dessert with one cherry.

Instead of the topping, it became the dessert itself.

Would you know, it worked. I stopped buying sweets at the store, and I gradually grew tired of the cherries.
