Breaking Lettuce in Half

My parents brought us crisp lettuce in a woven basket from a local farmstand the other day.

I couldn’t believe what I had been missing.

Sure, it takes extra time to wash each leaf, and you might eat a bug or two or some dirt, but this crunching sound? It’s worth the effort and an occasional ingested insect.
